Tresorit is a file hosting service focused on data security. All data is automatically end-to-end encrypted, so it is not possible for the provider to read the data even if someone gets access to the server.

Data is encrypted on the client before upload, and the keys remain with the user, so the provider cannot read file contents—even if servers are accessed. At a product level, Tresorit provides secure storage, synchronization across devices, and controlled sharing for work inside teams and with external partners. It also supports encrypted document workflows—such as large-file transfer and electronic signatures—within the same security model. Clients are available for desktop, mobile, and the web.

Hosting

Tresorit does not operate its own physical data centers. The service infrastructure, including storage of encrypted user content, is hosted on Microsoft Azure. By default, customer data is stored in Microsoft Azure data centers located in Ireland. For customers based in Switzerland, data is stored by default in Swiss data centers. Organizations on Business Plus and Enterprise plans can choose their data-residency region. The available regions are Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, Singapore, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and two separate locations in the United States. Changing this setting applies to new folders, while existing folders remain in their original location unless moved.
